University of Toronto

Over the weekend, we sent a team, for the third year in a row, to play at the University of Toronto's fall tournament.

There were some travel delays, flight cancellations, missing goalies but we still managed to have a great time.

Our first game was at the crack of 12:30 PM against Capital Wave of Ottawa. We were missing a couple players and unfortunately dropped this one. Then we regrouped for brunch for a strategery talk on how to win the next one. One thing we decided to do was visit the Bata Shoe Museum before the next game. Learning about the cold weather footwear of the Inuit people helped us to perform at our best at 5:30 pm against Carleton University. We won that one and went out to a German restaurant/bar to celebrate with sausage and drinks.

The tournament organizers gave us the honor to play the first game of Sunday at 8 AM against CAMO, of Montreal. Someone got rolled about 3 minutes into the game... Don't worry, the team managed to beat CAMO even with their best looking player in street clothes for 3.5 quarters.

Next came the Varsity Blues of University of Toronto at 11 am. Our second game of the day, their first. We played well but couldn't pull off the victory in the end. They had a good group of players but oh well. We went 2-2 on the weekend.

Thanks to the following guys for making the trip:

Andrius, Eric, Egan, Jose, Dan Wendt, Adam Kaplan, Donner, Alex Brons, Sam Gonzalez, Brett Luehmann and Brett's friend Jack.

All in all, it was an awesome time in an awesome city. Highly recommend attending this one next year.

Get to practice and do it up!
